Weekly Unit Spotlight: Ramona

A youth who lives with her brother on the streets, she only knows that her parents left them there, and that she tried her best to make Simon another her. However, her younger brother has anemia, which limits the amount of physical activity he can do. She leaves him to his own devices, and is convinced that they have nothing in common anymore. Her personality is like sandpaper at first, mean and stubborn, but she takes a liking to those who are persistent at being kind to her. Weekly Unit Spotlight: Karti

Karti, the silver-haired archer, with a penchant for perfect shots. Her description: A RESERVED ARCHER KNOWN FOR KEEPING GILL COMPANY, SHE SEES HIM AS THE FATHER SHE NEVER HAD, AS HE ADOPTED HER AND TRAINED HER INTO THE ARMY AFTER NOTING HER POTENTIAL. SHE IS DETERMINED TO PROVE HERSELF AS THE GREATEST SHARPSHOOTER IN ALL OF LYROUCHE, AND SHE NEVER STOPS TRYING TO SHOW GILL WHY HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT HER.  Karti is the only archer your team has for a long time. Eventually, Cris is presented as a more unorthodox sharpshooter, and Crystal is recruited as a sniper with fairly usable bases and a very useful personal skill, but until those later chapters, Karti is your only option as an offensive bow user and is a faithful and true-to-her-class archer. The pluses of utilizing her in battle: An outlandishly high skill stat: Karti's skill growth is the most stand-out thing about her, which is quite fitting for an archer. It lies at a lofty 85%, meaning critical hits will become very fa...

Weekly Unit Spotlight: Schall

I'm catching up by posting all of the Unit Spotlights I have done so far. It will be weekly, it has come on Friday every time. Schall, the naive knight, enters the battlefield with the presence of a child, but the skill of a trained mage. His description: A NEWLY APPOINTED ROYAL GUARD, HE IS RENOWNED FOR HIS PROWESS IN MAGIC. HE IS KIND TO A FAULT, BUT EXTREMELY NAIVE AND IMMATURE. HIS MOOD ON THE BATTLEFIELD IS ALWAYS SCARED AND UNHAPPY, AS HE IS NOT ADJUSTED TO VIOLENCE, BUT HE HAS ALWAYS DREAMED OF BEING A KNIGHT. HIS PARENTS ARE VERY WEALTHY NOBLES, AND HE WAS RAISED AS A SHELTERED CHILD. HIS ADOPTIVE BROTHER, MICHAEL, IS JEALOUS OF HIS POSITION. Schall is the game's only troubadour. He is also the only character to start with light magic, because troubadours now have access to magic attacks from the get-go, as well as staves, like usual. This may make some prefer him over Annika, but Schall has his own quirks, good and bad, that make him serve a different role tha...

Unit Spotlight: Tyken

Tyken, the levelheaded one of the triplets, and a talented mage. His character description: THE LAST-BORN OF THE TRIPLETS, HE IS VERY COOL AND COLLECTED. HE DISLIKES STUDYING, BUT LOVES TO LEARN. HE IS OFTEN FOUND OBSERVING OR PLAYING WITH THINGS HE FINDS OUTSIDE OF CAMP. HE IS QUICK TO JUDGE, AND TENDS TO PUT WORDS IN OTHER’S MOUTHS. Tyken is one of two mages you get in the story, but Gwenivere is not recruited for a long time, and being of the Est archetype, she is difficult to train, unlike Tyken, who is available from the start. Here are his pros: Relatively good magic: His magic stat for a mage is good, at 65%, not amazing, but definitely usable. He also starts with a base magic stat of 9 at level one, which is pretty nice. Great skill and luck: Tyken has a 60% skill and luck growth, meaning he will hit very often and will give a decent amount of critical hits. Analytic: Tyken's personal skill gives allies within two spaces +15 avoid, and it drops adjacent enemies...

Unit Spotlight: Tenn

The myrmidon with the swift movements and the many fears, Tenn is a man of many skills. His character description: THE SECOND-BORN TRIPLET IN THE FAMILY, HE IS KIND AND REASONABLE, BUT HE BECOMES IRRATIONAL WHEN IT COMES TO THINGS THAT MAKE HIM UNCOMFORTABLE. HE RELIES ON TAREN OFTEN TO DO THINGS HE DOES NOT WANT TO DO, DESPITE HIM BEING CAPABLE ENOUGH TO DO IT ON HIS OWN. The first of two myrmidons, the other being Esther, who is recruited much later in the game, Tenn's growths are either a blessing or a curse for anyone who trains him. Here are the pros: Excellent skill and speed: You won't really have to worry about Tenn missing or getting hit. In a class with such high skill and speed growths, Tenn reaches 75% in both stats. Additionally, his luck is 55%, meaning he will be very dodgy, and because his native weapon is the sword, weapons with high accuracy, Tenn will hit even with a weapon disadvantage. Decent defense: 40% defense isn't great, but it's noth...

Unit Spotlight: Taren

Taren is the assumed leader of the recruits, taking up the reins to gain kingdom protection over the villages of Lyrouche. Her character descripion: THE FIRST-BORN TRIPLET IN HER FAMILY, SHE IS INDEPENDENT AND STRONG, BUT CRUDE AND A BIT STUBBORN. HER BROTHERS ARE HARD TO FIRE UP, BUT SHE CERTAINLY ISN’T. SHE LOVES TO EAT, AND CANNOT FIGHT WITHOUT HER SIBLINGS AT HER SIDE, FOR SHE FEARS BEING ALONE. Taren is the first of two fighters you get, the other being Hemn. Taren and Hemn are very different, though, and you will find that both have varying niches to fill. Here are some of Taren's strengths: Her raw power: Taren hits like a truck. She has the highest strength in the game at 80%, and her native weapon, axes, have naturally high might. There are very few enemies that can withstand her cannon arm. Her good physical bulk: Taren has a fantastic HP cushion, with a growth of 85% in her base class, and her defense is substantial at 55%, even in the fighter class, which isn...

Weekly Unit Spotlight: Annika

The spotlight for this week is on Annika, the healer with passion and fire! Her character description is as follows: A HEALER WHOSE MOTHER IS FROM A FOREIGN LAND, SHE IS OUTGOING AND COMPASSIONATE. SHE SOMETIMES CAN GET CAUGHT UP IN THE HEAT OF BATTLE, AND WILL SAY OR DO THINGS THAT ARE OUT OF HER CHARACTER. SHE HAS A SECRET TEMPER, BUT TRIES TO REMAIN CALM THROUGH PRAYERS TO THE GODDESS ANCIA, WHO SHE PARTIALLY WAS NAMED AFTER. Annika is the army's only cleric, which would be an issue if you didn't receive Schall, a troubadour you recruit only a chapter ahead of Annika, and Harley, who is recruited in Chapter 9. As a cleric, Annika has no means to defend herself, and she has fragile defensive stats, along with low HP. She also has serious competition as a healer, as Harley and Schall can both counterattack and absorb damage better than Annika. However, Annika has a few advantages over them: Her magic growth: Annika's magic growth is actually the highest in the gam...
